(And a side note--sorry in advance if the sudden return to use of this blog spams the living hell out of the syndication feed at Livejournal with past posts. If I could figure out how to turn that off, I would, I swear.)
Currently, at work, I'm on this little side project that allows me some time to listen to music during the day, so I have Yahoo's Launchcast set up to play. Sometimes I have to beat it into submission when it tries to play stuff that makes me go 'what the hell?', but by and large, it's a nice diversion throughout the day.
However, this does make the odd song lyric linger in my head longer than maybe it should, so today, I present the first in what may be a recurring theme: Song Lyrics I Just Don't Get. These are actual lyrics in songs, too, not some random mondegreen--there are plenty of sites on the web that talk about that, I don't need to add to that bit of madness, even though that's a common thing with me, too.
ANYway.
Spotlight on today's 'what the hell?' lyric, Scandal's The Warrior, second verse, second line:
Your eyes touch me physically
...
What the hell does that even mean? I know, I know, poetic (....maybe) reference to the phenomenon of someone's look being tangible somehow, but couldn't you find a better way to phrase that? Put the way it is, it sounds rather icky and slimy to me.
Ah well. Back to work and, who knows, maybe more 'dude, wtf?' moments.
